Mountain or Road Biking, Kayaking, Hiking, Brew Hoping,  – This area has it!

In just 3.5 hours from Hartford, you will be able to drive to VT’s Northeast Kingdom and Burke Mountain in time to Bike Hike or Kayak on the day of your arrival (Wednesday) and the following two days as part of this AE Ski Club package.  The hotel has its own restaurant and a bar/lounge area, plus there are restaurants in nearby East Burke.

For kayaking, at the northern end of nearby Lake Willoughby, Clyde River Recreation has kayaks, both single and tandem, paddle boards and canoes available for rent. You can choose to do their approximately 3-hour gentle paddle down the Clyde River ($25), but if water levels are low, they will transport rental kayaks to the north shore of Lake Willoughby for our use, where we can paddle all day for $45!! At the southern end and eastern shore of Lake Willougby, there are several parking lots available where you can park your vehicle and explore your choice of any of the MANY moderate level hiking trails along and above the lake.

For those interested, fishing, mountain biking and golf are also available in the area!

Rooms at Burke Mountain have mini fridges, coffee makers and cooktops. There isn’t a bad view from any of the rooms with split king beds! We can use their outdoor pool and hot tub and have dinner at the View Pub. An easy scenic hiking trail that begins at Burke Mountain’s Sherburne Base Lodge might be a good trail to explore on the afternoon of our arrival before hitting the pool!

Registration and Payment Policy

• You and your roommate must be active members of AE Ski Club for the 2025/2026 season to register.

• All spots for this trip will be filled on a First Come/First Served basis.

• Full Payment of $388 must be made via PayPal or Venmo at time of registration.  If paying by Venmo, it is important to click the “Place Order” button before making the Venmo payment.

• If the trip sells out, we will start a waiting list.

• If, for any reason, you must cancel your trip, you must notify the trip leader in writing. Refunds are not guaranteed if we are not able to find someone to fill your spot. However, every effort will be made to find a substitute from the waiting list.
