Do you want to experience that feeling of exhilaration as you fly through the gates on the race course? If so, then Monday night racing at Mt. Southington is for you! The Monday night races at Mt. Southington are a series of eight GS races open to all 18-year-old and above skiers and snowboarders who are CSC members (all AE Ski Club members are also CSC members). Each race is a best of two-timed competitions in which individuals compete within an age/gender bracket. Team scores are also tracked. After the races, participants socialize over pizza and beverages.
The CSC State Race series includes eight races: GS and Slalom races at Mt. Southington, and Super-G, Snowboard, and Cross Country races during the On Snow Winter Carnival. These races are also open to all 18-year-old and above skiers and snowboarders who are CSC members.
The On Snow Winter Carnival is a weekend event usually occurring in March. This event includes three of the CSC State Race series as well as less formal competitions including Junior races (for anyone under 18 years old), a women’s only race, a team race, a club race, a fun race (rules disclosed only at the time of the event), a volleyball in ski boots match, and a ski rally.

Meet Griffin Woodsure
Griffin has been an active member of the AE Ski Club for ten years. He has been racing for the last six seasons and takes pride in always finishing on the podium at the end of the race season.
Winter is Griffin’s favorite season; he participates in day bus trips and at least one week-long ski trip a year. His favorite mountain to ski is Big Sky Resort in Montana.
Griffin likes to mountain bike and play golf in the warmer months. He is the father of two and the grandfather of five. Griffin is one of the most easygoing and friendly people you could ever meet, he is an asset to our race team.
